Today.

I woke up disappointed because I realised that I still do not have a ragdoll kitty in my life.

Ragdoll cats go limp when you hold them! Eeeeeeee. As much as I love Cek Mek (current house cat) she struggles if we ever try to hold her like that. Ragdoll kitty, come to mama! You'll never have to walk again <3

***

Today was a fun day at college!

Started out feeling a bit down cause I was cranky cause I haven't seen Nazim for awhile and won't be seeing him for awhile :( LDR *sigh*

(Also because my mom woke me up - okay, it was getting late anyway - from a dream I had of a murder mystery. Sigh... now I will never know who is the killer)

After the morning class, some of us stayed back and started talking and turns out they all were in LDR too! And they were in worst situation... and talking about it with people who understands the feeling made me feel better.

I was craving for Manulife but my friends had to go to Ali Maju, so I just followed. The bus was *hooot* for some reason. (Nisha would understand this). After Ali Maju, we passed by the lower foyer and they were selling membership for a website for RM50. Some kind of social government website not too sure. Anyway, we would also get a voucher book which was totally worth it. So we all signed  up. And got lucky draw! (I love competitions!)

Had some fun some more, played cards, went to lucky draw and won!

WOoh.

Okay, so I'm not so enthused to blog anymore. :( Forcing myself so I will get in the habit.

*ends abruptly*

Magika review.

It was accidental. I was scrolling through the facebook feed when I came across this video.

I have never heard of Magika before, but I saw it was Syarifah Aleya & Amani so I clicked play. And if you clicked play above, you can see how cute they both are and how catchy the song is. The moving trees weren't so bad, and at first look the costumes were not bad. Ziana Zain@Nenek Kebayan was a bit over the top but as I watched the video for the tenth time (in a row, on the same day), it was quite acceptable.

Watching the above video made me desperately wanting to watch the movie but it was also my undoing. :( From the above video, youtube recommended to watch the trailer so I did. The trailer sucks and it gave away everything. I knew Mawi was Badang and M.Nasir was the Penunggu Tasik Chini. Also it made me have high expectations for the movie....

After watching it today, it was pretty meh. Not bad, and maybe ever so slightly leaning on being quite good.

Synopsis

Malik is grumpy-wumpy and hid in the forest. Ayu, his elder sister, came searching for him. Malik heard some music and fell into  a well which transported him to Magika. He was captured by Nenek Kebayan who wanted his tears for her Jamu Muda. Ayu went down to rescue him meeting a few characters until getting the help of Bad@Badang. Finally, the siblings manage to escape through the portal at Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup despite a dragon and a witch and a short dude.

What I disliked
(starting with negatives first)

Maya Karin is uber pretty and I never expected to see so many of her! It was quite funny at first but it was then quite fun to watch. What I disliked was the small crown on top of her head. So unnecessary, didn't notice it in the youtube video but in the cinema screen it was annoying and distracting.

While we're on costume, I dislike Nenek Kebayan's sunflower at the back of her head. Doesn't fit.

Falling in a well and then an explosion of colour purple as they were in the water just reminded me of Enchanted. :/ I think they shouldn't have used purple.

MAWI. Sorry, I'm not a fan. No hair, long hair; still not a fan. I never thought that he played such a prominent role in the movie. If he was, maybe they shouldn't have mentioned that he was Badang in the trailer. I think it would have been more fun for me to figure out who he was since he introduced himself only as 'Bad' to Ayu(main character).. DAMN YOU TRAILER! And he's not strong pun!!

Again, I think I would have liked it more if it had less Mawi. When Ayu first fell she met a few other characters, Pak Pandir, Mahsuri etc. They should have kept it like that. Songs that were sung by Ayu & Bad were so boring.

All the rempit words they inserted. (examples: agak-agak, masyuuuk, etc) UGH. I hated the Senario part altogether.. painful to watch. Sorry but they're just not funny!!

What I liked

Despite not liking the Bad & Ayu thing, I thought they handled the ending well. I wouldn't approve of either going to the other world, they just don't belong! But the returning of the hairband and all the Ayu written on the trees was sweet and at least it comforted Ayu that Bad survived (the last Ayu left him, he was left to fend off the witch, the dragon and the short dude)
LOL. To be honest, I thought their ending would be Bad wearing Ayu's hairband. :p

Bawang Putih Bawang Merah! They should make a sequel, seriously! Maybe have them visit our world instead? Ahhh, kecomelan squared. I need more Adibah Noor too!

Fat and old Puteri Gunung Ledang. The exchange between her and that Kelantanese guy was funny too.

All the characters were interesting, except for the Awang guy cause I'm not too familiar with the folklore maybe. The peribahasa incorporated were pretty good too. "Jangan sangka air tenang tiada naga" "Buayalah!" and "Hutang emas boleh dibayar, hutang budi..." love how that was important in the ending.

M.Nasir. Not really a fan and again, I knew he was the dragon somehow.. so I wasn't really surprised but his singing is aweeeesome. I like how he gets angrier and angrier.

The dragon has awoken!

Anyway, this is the first review I have ever written so it's a bit here and there. (Procrastinating from doing assignments). I hope Malaysian movies will keep on improving! :)

3. 22 and 1.

Went to a Raje's birthday party shared with her little niece.

So many babies at the party!! Gosh, I really should start taking pictures again :(

Talking to the sky.

My friend went off to UK this morning to complete her final year. I feel really guilty for not sending her off, but I really wanted a day where I can sleep in. Waking up early is exhausting. Anyway, good luck Azdianur (if you are reading)! Can't wait to see you back here next year. :)

Once I had enough beauty sleep, I went out with Nurul. She picked me up and as we were reaching a bus stop, we saw a crazy woman sitting there.

We knew she was crazy because of her gestures. She was sitting by the street under the hot sun.

As we got closer, we had a shock, because we knew this lady!!

Back in 2006, right after SPM, Nurul and I worked at a restaurant. There, we met this woman. She was a bit annoying because she tends to nag non-stop. She was weird because she LIKES eating food that has expired, close to expired or spoiled in anyway. A mutual friend told us it was because she used to go through rough times and she salvaged any food and made sure that none got wasted. However, she has conditioned herself so much until it seems she prefers rotten food!
An example would be, a colleague bought curry puff for each employee. She refuses to eat her share even after us repeatedly telling her that it was specifically bought for her, so what we did was we left it at the counter. The next day, she promptly came by and ate it! She'd rather eat it a day old rather than fresh.

From what I remembered, she got divorced and her only daughter dislike her. Probably because she was naggy. Okay, how annoying is she? She's mopping the floor and I was blocking the way, she could have just said,
"Excuse me" and I would have gladly moved.

Instead, she tapped me at the shoulder, "Sorry ah. Sorry ah. I say nicely you jangan marah ah. I want to mop the floor, before the customers start coming in then the restaurant is clean, after this I mop in front and then mop again, but I need to mop here now. You move here ah. Sorry ah. Just need to mop this place bla bla bla"

But she's polite-lah, just that something simple she can make it so long and draggy.

Lost contact with her after the restaurant closed down.

I still can't shake that image of her crazy grin, talking alone at the side of the street. She looks really tan :( must have been out in the streets for a long time.

1. Create

According to my friend, this is so me. "This" is a logo I created for a group project for Adv. Marcom class. We are to form an agency and develop an IMC plan for a company. The lecturer said to be professional, well you gotta have a logo for an agency! :p

Okay okay, so logo was not even part of the project outline but I couldn't resist. The decided name for the company was CR8.

In the logo, there is a Black C, a White R,.. which overall forms the number 8. Red box cause red is bold and umm, we think out of the box? The red box was a last minute addition, that of course made perfect sense now. (Perfect sense cause if the number 8 was in a box it looks to much like a TV channel, and also initially I just wanted the 8 to be black, gray and white. But I didn't want a white element with black outline.. so yeah, sorry for rambling on the design process)

How I love design! :)

Anyway, I am here back in blogspot again thanks to Vox closing down. I is sad.

I'm gonna be a little less critical on myself and post whatever shit I want in my blog.

pretty sure.

I think I'm about 98% sure that I'm gonna blog only at chly.vox.com.

Obvious.

It was in the bus that I felt sleepy. Coincidentally one of the conversations that I had with a friend involved explaining to her that Muslims does not encourage sleeping during Maghrib time (roughly 7ish till about 8).

I took some medicine as it was beginning to feel painful to swallow and I was really sleepy already. It was only 7 and I was ready to sleep!

The azan for Maghrib finally sounded and it was past 8 and for some reason, I felt that it was too late for a nap, too early for bedtime. Said that thought to bf and he said but you're already sleepy right?

Good point. So I went to bed at 8!! EEEEEEEE.. super early.

***

I had a fantastic triple-date/mini-vacation with Nazim's Parents, his sister and her bf and of course Nazim. :D

It started with me being a grump cause I was tired and hadn't packed and God knows I hate to pack!! He was thankfully patient about it. I woke up late the day I was to head off to Nilai but managed to make it just in time.

Maybe it's the long distance relationship but I get this odd sense of relief whenever I see him. I just can't help smiling.

We made our way to A Famosa Waterpark, which I had visited a few months back with Nazim only to celebrate my birthday. Both visits were fun okay? I love his mom! Also, spending any time with Nazim especially when he's been so busy lately is good for me.

And I do have to say that although I haven't lost a significant amount of weight yet, my stamina has improved! The waterpark includes a lot of stair climbing before you get the thrill ride down. The first time I visited, I was bent over losing my breath and I had to take a five minutes break once I reach the top just to catch my breath. PATHETIC! This time around, I managed to keep my breath steady. It was still quite a workout yes, but it was bearable. :D :D :D

Nazim's parents booked a villa with a swimming pool. The kids played cards while the parents watched football. The next day it was everybody swimming as soon as we were up and we played silly race games. Including piggyback races, even with the girls giving the guys a piggyback ride. HAHA!

Was supposed to play paintball but it didn't work out. Thank God! I just don't feel like shooting his mom or his dad!! That would be SO wrong.

We went for go-kart instead, Nazim played archery and I got a horse ride.

Unfortunately, I felt quite itchy after either the swimming pool or the go-kart. I have small little bumps all over which I thought were chicken pox. Thankfully it's not... though they're still quite itchy. Oh well.

Oh on this mini-vacation, I found out that he saves my number as "boss"!! ROAR!! So now whenever he calls me, his name appears as "kuli." Padan muka!

.

I think it was just yesterday or two days ago when I saw you online, had a brief conversation about a lecturer and found out that we will be taking a same class this semester.

It was a few months before that that I occasionally asked you questions regarding college (which you patiently answered), or laughing at your witty status updates. I'll always remember the conversations we had where you were considering to change major because one provided a better opportunity for jobs. Your reason for concern was that you were the eldest and you wanted to help support your family. I thought that was very kind and noble of you.

We share the same birthday, and you wished me before I got to wish you.

It was during our group project that you found out we had the same birthdate. You were so excited, now every birthday I shall say a little prayer to the person who should be celebrating on the same day as well.

We convinced each other to go Zorbing, which I am so glad I went. It was definitely an unforgettable memory filled with thrill and laughter.

It was a lecturer who randomly placed us in a group... and I'm so glad that he did. The reason being that I got to know such a fun, bubbly and wonderful person.

I waited the whole day today for you to come online to ask why weren't you in class today and that we had a new lecturer.

I barely got to know you and I feel the loss. I can't imagine what your close friends and family must be feeling. Rest in peace, Sandra Wong.

Jan 13, 2010

because I said I would blog more often.

College is fun... and I'm enjoying it not because a lot of people are telling me to enjoy it (before you have to be an adult and work and bills and tra la la) but because I actually am enjoying it! My schedule is awesome, no Monday blues for this girl! Tuesday is a little packed from 8 to 6 but thank God I have two awesome college friends who will accompany me on that dreary bus trip home.

During normal hour, a bus ride home would be max 30 minutes which is inclusive of waiting time. During rush hour, it can take up to even more than 2 hours. There's a particular stretch of road where it's a slow crawl and it's always jammed and the bus will be particularly crowded... and you wouldn't understand if you weren't there and weren't tired but I swear I feel like crying!!!! That's how bad it is... and it really irks me that all these cars that are crowding up the streets each has only one driver in it. Malaysia should really have a carpool rule during rush hour. Imagine if the rules were implemented and that each car driven during rush hour needs at least two people in it, the amount of cars on the streets would be HALVED!! I don't think me writing that down on a blog that not many read is going to actually make it happen but at least now I have friends to talk to and keep me entertained and hey harus control macho maka saya tidak akan menangis! haha. Also, thanks to a awesome schedule, I only have to go through this once a week!! Not bad :D

The awesome schedule doesn't come drawback free. I'm stuck with two lecturers who really can't teach. One of them is not so bad now considering that the other one is so awful that anyone else would seem okay. It annoys me like hell but at the same time I also feel sorry for her. She's really sweet actually but I think she lacks confidence and the fact that her English is quite bad doesn't really help. I hate lecturers/teachers who can't control the class. I'd prefer a strict and boring lecturer than a sweet lecturer who will just let the class get noisy and talk together... cause then I wanna talk too! Ngahahaha. Hope I didn't miss out on anything important.

Speaking of missing out, I missed my first class today! Roar. I was rolling in bed and laughed to myself thinking, "wouldn't it be funny if I woke up late today and missed my class" that was when I looked at my hp and yes.. it was exactly 2 minutes since my class has begun. -___- Oh well...

I have a mini-vacation planned for this weekend. Yee!

Jan 7, 2010

Debaran.

Wuargh.

Woke up today at 3 a.m. and rolled around till 7 a.m. :p By then I was pretty energetic and pretty much in a "taa-daaah" state where I can jump, dance and perform with jazz hands if required (which is a first this year, since I've been sick since NYE)

My sis was heading to the doctors and my mom thought I should tag along eventhough I swearz I was feeling better. Just the usual phlegm, though sad, pathetic me is horrible at getting rid of phlegm. My mom said I was wheezing so I'd better check.

The doctor held the stethoscope at my chest and I was breathing deeply then she asked some questions, mind you questions that needed long answers, so I was answering her then she scold "eh breath-lah!" She proceeded to ask me further questions -___- non-medical related sheesh!
So yeah, I'm wheezing... and um, having never had this before, I had no idea what it was. The first thing that came to mind was Wheezing Weasleys' something something from Harry Potter. :p

This is gonna be a long post, bertahanlah.

So the new set of meditation made me drowsy. Fell asleep and woke up still feeling woozy! Roar. Then my phone rang and it was a representative from Watson's, she needed to check whether I was the one who posted the entry "Drink up my smile!" (eh why did I come up with that stupid title. geli dengar!) and whether I still had the original receipt.

HOH. Jantung berhenti. Original receipt was from my mom, passed to me while I was wearing grey bag. Keluarkan to type the receipt number then put it down on the floor next to my bed. Did I put it in my grey bag back again? Because I did spring cleaning on that bag. -__-

"Do you need time to find your receipt?" YES! I said, 10 minutes will do. It has got to be in my wallet or I really don't know what. She told me the judges would like to doublecheck all finalists' has their original receipt before making a decision. Oh tak menang lagi... but there's a chance.

It wasn't in my wallet. It wasn't in my grey bag. It wasn't on the floor next to my bed. It just wasn't on the floor. I know, I've checked twice.

I was still not discouraged. This is Intan's bedroom we're talking about, the one who should have rightfully won Ikea's Messy Room competiton last year (I'm still bitter, screw yew!) It's a wonderland of trash that never really got thrown away. It has to be somewhere. IT'S ON THE DRESSING TABLE! *bangga*

Waited for the call back but I wasn't so excited. After all she told me the judges hasn't made the final decision yet. :D :D :D And when she called back, :D :D :D

:D :D :D

:D :D :D

I won third prize!!!! 30 seconds of shopping spree. 30 seconds of dgn tak malunya di khalayak ramai grabbing everything in sight! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Did I mention I need a new eyeliner?

And my sister, one day, looking at me seriously. "This" She held a Revlon Cylindrical Tube of Foundation to my face.
"THIS.

Remember this. I want this. Nak habis dah. Remeeeeemmmber!"

And my mother who chirped in that she wants Olay stuffs... and some other stuff. Then I went all huffy puffy to her and my sister, "Intan yang masuk competition"

"Mak punya receipt" hahahaha. mampos.

Okay, the reason why I wrote the note panjang lebar because facebook was mean to me just now!!! I can't access my profile at all... even from another account. I wanted to WRITE IN ALL CAPS LETTER AT MY STATUS THAT I WON... tapi facebook tak kasi masuk.. so saya merajok. Tulis panjang2 puas hati! Wekkkk..

I won! I won! (I know I won third place.. but it's so hard to say I won third place! I won third place) So yeah I won! I won!

To those who voted, thank you. To those who didn't, if you HAD voted.. maybe I could have won number 1 huh!!!! LOL.

***

I still think there might be a catch what do you think? They blindfold me or something? Heck, I'm going to scout that Watson's area beforehand.. pergi buat map and everything. HAHAHAHA.

Or or.. you can only take home what you can carry. I'm wearing outfit with lots of pockets and bra longgar. HAHAHUEHUAHUEHUAHUHEIUHIHAPSIJHOGBOPSJLD. Okeh, when I'm happy, I get silly.

I WON! I WON!

Jan 3, 2010

Saying Yes.

Have you ever read the book Yes Man? or at least watched the movie? I prefer the book honestly but that's not the point. The point is I'm in that state where I'm constantly saying no.

Or at least saying yes at first, then finding some lame excuses not to go.

I don't think a lot of people notice. Some persistent friends do. I suppose I should start saying Yes more. Though I definitely won't be Yes Girl who says Yes to everything. *gasp* What if a stranger offers a chocolate to me and ask me to step into his van? What if a sleazy guy walks up to me in a bar and says, "Let's go somewhere where we can be alone?"

Okay both unlikely scenarios, since I am on a diet and also I don't go to bars. But still... saying Yes to everything can be dangerous.

Here's a little Yes that I was trying desperately to change into a pathetic, excuse-giving No. A friend offered me a job designing logo for her company. Something that I always said I want to try and when an opportunity is handed right to my face... all I want to do is run away. So, lunch meeting later to discuss stuff. Gah!

Also, while we're talking about resolutions (which I've made plenty of btw) and one of them I've been keeping up quite well is to exercise six times a week. :D Actually you're supposed to have two rest days in a week (or so I read), however one of those six days is really a relaxing, short detox yoga... AND also, I feel quite restless if I don't exercise for a day. I've managed to keep this up for a month so let me see if I can keep it up for a year. You could probably already guessed that another related resolution is to lose weight right?

Yeah. Some people have vanity for their reason or health. Those are some of my reasons anyway but the main reason why I want to lose weight is rather silly. It motivates me like hell anyway, so have a listen (and laugh if you want to) my boyfie used to be able to give me piggyback rides... and even though now he says he's able to; I simply don't think it's possible without him breaking his back in the process. So yeah, I wanna lose weight because I want a piggy-back ride. :( Desperately.

I'm doing just about everything that can help. I've decided to go Meatless once a week. Good for the environment, your digestive system and kind to the animals. Heck why not? Okay maybe I'm flattering myself too much. After all it's just once a week... but it's a huge deal for me! And once a week equals to 52 days a year of me not eating meat. That's not bad for a start? Don't count on me going completely vegetarian though, sorreh! And another which is to sleep early and wake up early T_T NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME! I just have difficulty sleeping, I've tried Yoga for Sleep and it worked for a few days. Somehow, I've developed immunity for it. I've tried self-hypnosis prior to that, same case. Now I'm loading some hypnosis video and relaxing music on Youtube. Hope this works.

Oh, also I want to blog more often. Reading archives makes me nostalgic. I have to be more candid this time around, I was so cryptic last time that now I have absolutely NO IDEA who I was referring to back then. Ka ka ka... and to be less emo-nemo. kthxbai!
